christmas in January

It's January, around noon. It's snowing outside the window, and it's all white. I light the candles and wait for the guests. On the menu are rabbit liver mousse, glazed pear, hazelnut powder, and apple smoke that will float above us and the table. You can already smell the dishes being prepared. There is no point in planning flowers at this time of year. However, beautiful twigs of hawthorn and wild rose grow by the house. My thoughts keep coming back to the desert, a shortbread tart with cream, caramel, and a sugar cloud. I know that soon, we will be surrounded by a liquefied sweetness that we will all soak into.
